How Meetings are Run

The group members decide how the group is run by way of democracy. We hold committee meetings regularly  to discuss matters concerning how the meetings are run.

One of the biggest benefits of being an independent group is our flexibility. Because we have no one to answer to, we decide how we want to run the meetings. This is done as a collective and not a dictatorship.

Every member, no matter how long they have been a member, gets an equal say in how the group is run. If you see any area where you believe there is room for improvement then the committee meetings are the times to bring them to the groups attention – although ideas can be communicated to the Chairman at any time.

We like each member to have part responsibility for running a successful meeting. Running a meeting is not difficult but everyone does their part to ensure everything runs smoothly. From organising the calendar of 10 minute presentations to ensuring the business card holder is stocked with cards from all members to keeping the minutes of the meetings, everyone does their bit.

Membership of the Business Generation Group Grimsby is limited to one member per industry category. Only one member from each industry is allowed to be a member at any one time. This removes the conflict that would occur when there was an opportunity for referring some business and more than one company it could go to.

To become a member of the Business Generation Group Grimsby there is a one off joining fee and then an annual membership fee. If any member chooses not to renew then their industry category becomes available for another company to join.
